Back to School!

It’s hard to believe it’s time to send our kids back to school! Where has the summer gone? Did you get everything done that you wanted? Did you take time to read a good book? Did the kids have time to run through the sprinkler and go to the pool? Don’t worry if you didn’t get it all done! There’s still time, summer doesn’t officially end until Monday, September 23rd!

As the new school year begins and you are out purchasing new backpacks, notebooks, pens and crayons, take a moment to talk to your kids about Kindness and Respect. Kindness and Respect can be shown in so many ways during the school year and really anytime of year! Let’s remind our kids:

  • Say a simple Hi to other kids waiting at the bus stop with you! Everyone is feeling a little nervous or anxious on the first day of school!

  • Say Good Morning to the Bus Driver! This is not an easy job - be respectful!

  • Don’t be afraid to be the first one to raise your hand in class! Let your voice be heard!

  • Don’t judge anyone for what they wear or look like! We are all unique individuals!

  • It’s ok to be an Athlete and be in Drama too!

  • Ask the new kid in your class to sit with you at lunch!

  • Remember please and thank you’s!

  • Really let your Mom and Dad know how school is going! They really are the most trusted people to bring your highs and lows of the day to!

School can be both an amazing place to learn and make long lasting friendships! School can also be a place of bullying and hatred! Students all get so busy right off the get go with sports, band, drama club and the list goes on and on. Keeping the lines of communication open is so important! If I could do anything different when my kids were in High School, I would have put all of the cell phones away at night! Let them take a break from all of the outside noise! Maybe you can give it a try! Let me know if works!

In the Words of Dr.Seuss -

You have brains in your Head. You have feet in your Shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you Choose!

Merriam-Webster Dictionary says the definition of Kindness is, the quality or state of being kind; treating people with kindness and respect.  Also, it means, a kind deed or favor; they did me a great kindness.

After the current tragedies in Texas and Ohio, someone on the crazy news said, we should be focusing on all of the acts of kindness that happened in lieu of these tragedies. The random strangers who brought water and food to the meeting areas!  The nurse who started CPR and the other strangers who drove the wounded to the hospital!  All acts of kindness!

One of my favorite movies is Evan Almighty!  It stars Steve Carell and Morgan Freeman.  It’s a great movie about trust, faith and one small Act of Random Kindness (ARK)! If you haven’t watched it, I highly recommend it!    Can you imagine our world, our neighborhood, our family if we had more trust, faith and created small acts of random kindness!

I don’t think there is one specific answer or solution to the craziness that is happening in our world.  I do know that if we had more Kindness in our world it definitely would be a better world!  I challenge you to do one kind thing a day or one kind thing a week!  Kindness is so simple; it needs to start now!

Be the reason someone smiles.  Be the reason someone feels loved and believes in the goodness in people!

It's Off to College they Go!

It seems like only yesterday that we were packing up my oldest son to head off to college!  At the time I didn’t know any better, we kept our purchases in the Target bags or just threw them in the car! We packed his shoes in green plastic bags and his clothes in boxes. As we pulled out of our driveway, with his very sad friends waving good bye, we all put on our sunglasses and didn’t talk for about an hour or two!  We had to stay overnight in Carbondale before he could move into the dorms and my husband says; “this is the biggest time of year that cars get broken into because they know you’re moving into a dorm!”  All I could think of is; “you’ve got to be kidding me, did you lock the truck!?”  I watched Joe sleep that night, thinking that’s the last time I’ll see him sleeping as my little boy!

Now fast forward to present day!  After doing the college drop off several times now, it’s definitely a lot easier and it’s definitely a lot less emotional!   Here are some tips to help any first time parents sending bringing their kids to college!

1.     Keep any clothes on hangers – use a white garbage bag to scoop all the clothes up into the bag and use the drawstring of the bag to secure all the hangers

2.    Purchase 3-4 large totes and set them out in your garage.  As you buy things for college put them into a tote.  Keeps you organized, you can see what you have and what you still need – don’t forget school supplies!

3.    College students really do like mail!  Every now and then send a funny card or a note and try to include a gift card to Starbucks or Walgreens!

4.    You think the meal plan is such a great idea – it is at first and then it becomes gross!  Be prepared to pack snacks!

5.    Try to encourage your college student to stay at school!  Encourage them to get involved in something!  The more they come home, especially on weekends, the more difficult it is for your college student to feel a part of their new community!

Finally, let your son or daughter know how proud you are of them!  This is not an easy transition for them either, no matter how confident they may seem!  Get ready to put on your sunglasses and buckle up for this crazy ride!

Be a part of the Solution!

Every time I turn on the news it’s one incredibly sad story after the next! The news seems to be reporting every horrific happening in the world! It makes me stop and take pause and say - is there anything good happening in my community and the world?? I know in my heart, there are a lot of good things happening in my community and the world!

I truly believe the news, reality shows and social media have a HUGE impact on how we live our lives, how we treat people and how we think! We judge and compare our lives to the tiny snippets we see on Facebook or Instagram. We get mad and infuriated at our country based on what the news feeds us and what craziness is tweeted! I know I am not the only one who feels this way!

So what can we do? Let’s all be a part of a Solution and not a continuation of the Problem! Let’s all change the narrative! First, turn off the boob tube! Enough of being fed stories of unrealistic lives and crazy news! Second, get out into your community and do some good! Volunteer at the hospital, stop into your local nursing home with a bouquet of flowers and say hello to a stranger passing by! Finally let’s just be Kind Humans!

Before we hit send or speak out to quickly, pause for one minute! Ask yourself the following - Is this how I want to be treated? Am I being a continuation of the problem or am I being a part of the Solution? Hopefully it is the Solution! Go out today and do something nice for someone! Be a Kind Human!

Live the Golden Rule - Treat Others Like You Want to be Treated!

What is Your Guilty Summer Pleasure?

What is Your Guilty Summer Pleasure?

The Urban Dictionary says guilty pleasures are those things we shouldn’t like, but we like anyways!  Here are a few examples of guilty pleasures; tweeting while taking a bubble bath, listening to a Barry Manilow CD, listening to a guy talk with an accent and regifting!   I’d say those are guilty pleasures!

Let’s move to Guilty Summer Pleasures!  For me it’s staying in my pj’s all day on my day off, binge watching Hallmark Channel movies, walking up and down the aisles of Whole Foods, finally taking an entire day to read a good book!  What’s your Guilty Summer Pleasure?

I think it’s important to take time out of our crazy busy days and just do something that relaxes you!  Find something to do by yourself or even better with your family!  Visit your local farmer’s market, go to the concert in your park, run through the sprinkler or have a family movie night in the middle of the week!

A Summer Pleasure that is never thought to be Guilty is coming to Suzy’s Swirl, Sunday – Saturday 11:00am to 10:00pm!  Swirl with us each and every day and sometimes even twice in one day!  You never have to feel Guilty about enjoying Suzy’s Swirl!

Happy 4th of July!

The Wonders of the 4th of July

As this Historic Americana weekend raps up, let’s look back as to why we celebrate July 4th!  As many of us know July 4th has been designated a national holiday to commemorate the day the United States laid down its claim to be a free and independent nation!

John Adams wrote to Abigail Adams saying that this day should be celebrated with pomp and parade, games, sports and illuminations from one end of the continent to the other! The first display of fireworks was on July 4, 1777.  The evening closed with the ringing of bells and a grand display of fireworks!

July 4th is such an amazing day!  It’s one day that all Americans dress in Red, White and Blue and celebrate our Independence!  Let’s never take for granted what our Freedom really means!

God Bless the USA!

Amazing Women Entrepreneurs and Leaders!

This past week Kathy and I attended our first WBENC convention in Baltimore, Maryland!  WBENC is the acronym for Women’s Business Enterprise National Conference.  WBENC is the largest certifier for women-owned businesses in the U.S. and a leading advocate for women business owners and entrepreneurs!  We had an amazing time! You need to visit our Facebook Page, Twitter and Instagram to see and read more of the exciting details!

In the midst of managing my way through 4000 people and many remarkable sessions, I had to stop and take pause!  I was blown away meeting such amazing and innovative women entrepreneurs! Listening to these leader’s stories and how they are making their mark on the world was inspiring!  Even amongst 4000 people, you could feel their excitement and support for each other!

I started thinking about how can we help inspire young women to become leaders and entrepreneurs and more mature women make their dreams come true!  Let’s start with saying less “Maybe” or “Possibly” and more “I Will” and “I Can”.  Don’t be afraid of failure!  At Suzy’s we say, Fail Forward Magnificently!  Don’t Give Up!  Be brave, be bold, be confident!  Get involved and build up a network.  Be Kind!  Learn to build up other girls and women!  Trust your Gut!  You’ve Got This!

You’re never too young or too old to be a woman entrepreneur!  It can be as simple as a Lemonade Stand or moving up to an incredible Frozen Yogurt Store! Think about all of the awesome leaders you have in your life, starting with our Mom’s, teacher’s, sister’s, mentor’s and the list can go on and on….

If you can dream it, you can achieve it!

Suzy's Swirl

Suzy’s Swirl

It is hard to believe that Suzy’s Swirl has been in existence for 7years!  Wow – how fast 7years have gone by!  To this day we still have young kids and adults ask how did Suzy’s Swirl get its name?  Is this a franchise?  Who’s Suzy?  How long have you been in Lake Bluff?  The most ever asked question, Why did you leave Gurnee?  So here are some answers to these questions and a few more interesting tid bits about Suzy’s Swirl!

Suzy’s Swirl is not a Franchise.  We started Suzy’s Swirl in Gurnee Il in August of 2012.  Suzy’s is a family owned business and it was started by sister’s Kathy and Sue, along with Sue’s family, Jen, Joe, Jim and Julie.  A funny fact, Julie was only 13 years old when we opened and she trained us all on how to use the registers!  In 2014 we opened our 2nd Suzy’s Swirl in Lake Bluff Il.

Since closing the Gurnee location in 2017, our most popular question has been, Why Did You Close the Gurnee Store?  We love all of our awesome customers and dear friends in Gurnee!  Our lease was up and we wanted to open a few new doors to focus on bringing Suzy’s Swirl to the retail market!  We too, miss Gurnee, we are thankful for all of our Gurnee customers who have found Suzy’s Swirl in Lake Bluff! All of us at Suzy’s Swirl are so grateful for all of our customers!

In case you didn’t know, Suzy’s Swirl is not named after Sue!  We wanted to name the store Swirl – we could Swirl anything – that name was already trademarked!  Kathy and Sue grew up in the Chicagoland area watching WGN, channel 9, Ray Rayner and each Christmas they would play Here comes Suzy’s Snowflake followed by Hard Rock, Coco and Joe!  We thought hmm, Suzy’s Swirl – awesome name!  Sue now loves being called Suzy!  We hope you continue to enjoy Suzy’s Swirl!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father’s Day

Here’s a little background on how Father’s Day came to be.  Father’s Day was founded in Spokane, Washington at the YMCA in 1910 by, Sonora Smart Dodd.  Her Father was a single parent to six children and a Civil War Veteran.  Sonora was listening to a service at her Church Honoring Mother’s and she went to her Pastor saying they should have something similar for Father’s!

Her crusade to celebrate this day was not easy.  Sonora started in 1910 and it took 62 years to finally get this day signed into Law.  In 1996 President Johnson issued the first Presidential Proclamation Honoring Fathers, designating the third Sunday in June as Father’s Day.  Six years later the day was made a permanent national holiday when President Nixon signed it into law in 1972!  Whoo!  What a long process!

Well Dad’s, today is your day!  What do most Dad’s like to do on this day?  My research shows that most Dad’s want to just hang out with their family!  A breakfast with bacon – a fun day with the family – finish the day with a cook out – that’s what many Dad’s said was their idea of a Great Father’s Day!  Suzy’s Swirl is a great way to finish the day too!!

I have great memories of my Dad, there are some days I can smell his pipe tobacco and I’m still amazed at how he could pat his head, smoke his pipe and read a book at the same time!  He was an amazing story teller and loved to read!  My husband loved spending time with his kids and was a big Muskie fisherman!  Family was so important to them both!  I hope you all have special memories of your Dad!

Any man can be a Father but it takes someone special to be a Dad!

What Women Inspires You?

As many young women are graduating from high school and college this June, it makes me stop and ponder the questions – Who Inspires these women to be the best they can be?  Who Inspires these women to keep on going when times get tough?  Not just “Who” Inspires them, but “What” Inspires them?

When I was younger, my Inspiration was my Mom!  For different reasons then you might think!  My Mom was one of the few Mom’s on our block that had a job outside of our home.  She was a very good realtor!  She worked nights and weekends! My Mom was so ahead of her time!  I was one of the original latchkey kids!  She Inspired me to want to be a Stay at Mom!  I also found out that it would be my most difficult and rewarding job ever!

Let’s fast forward to 2019.  Who Inspires the young women of today? Is it their Mom, Sister, Aunt, Grandma, Teacher, Coach, Friend or TV Reality Star….?  Where are they getting their Inspiration from?  Is it from an experience, a job, a book, a poem or in today’s world a Podcast?  There are so many Podcasts to choose from to help Inspire Women such as, Earn Your Happy, Let’s Discuss and Style Your Mind, just to name a few!  Where young women get their inspiration from is very different in 2019!

My list of women that inspire me has grown since I was a young women and it continues to grow!  My Sisters, my Mother-in-law, women I have worked with and my daughter’s inspire me!  There are so many different kinds of Influencers in today’s world – from Kylie Jenner, Taylor Swift, Ellen DeGeneres and Selena Gomez!  These women all have very compelling stories of Inspiration!

Take a minute today and think about Who Inspires You, What Inspires You and Where You found Your Inspiration!  It can be as simple as your next door neighbor, as spiritual as Mother Theresa, well known like Oprah or Your very own Mom!  There are so many ways to find Inspiration in our lives!

“Everyone has inside them a piece of good news. The good news is you don’t know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is.”– Anne Frank

Let the Summer Begin

Can you believe it is the beginning of June?  The month of June is a time for celebrations!  High School and College graduations, Weddings and of course Father’s Day!  June is also the beginning of Summer Vacation for so many of us!  What does your family do during Summer Vacation?

When my kids were younger, swimming lessons were always first on the list of our Summer Vacation plans!  I do not know how to swim and I wanted to be sure my kids could save me if I fell into the water!  Thank you Miss Donna for being such a great swimming teacher!  Each summer we also went up to Eagle River, Wisconsin!  We would rent a cabin, go fishing, tubing and take it easy!  Just disconnect!  I hope my kids have happy memories of their Summer Vacations!

It seems like the days are moving so fast and we are all so rushed!  Summer Vacation is a time to slow down and relax!  Take your shoes off and walk through the thick, cool, lush grass!  Run through the sprinkler and color your sidewalks with sidewalk chalk!  Try to have some chill days in the midst of all of the rushing around!

Don’t forget to make Suzy’s Swirl a part of your Summer Vacation plans too!  We plan on Swirling Sensational Flavors for all of your celebrations!  Suzy’s Swirl can be enjoyed at Suzy’s or ordered online to enjoy at your home!  #Suzysswirl

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother’s Day – By Erma Bombeck

 “When God Created Mothers"

When the Good Lord was creating mothers, He was into His sixth day of "overtime" when the angel appeared and said. "You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one."

And God said, "Have you read the specs on this order?" She has to be completely washable, but not plastic. Have 180 moveable parts...all replaceable. Run on black coffee and leftovers. Have a lap that disappears when she stands up. A kiss that can cure anything from a broken leg to a disappointed love affair. And six pairs of hands."

The angel shook her head slowly and said. "Six pairs of hands.... no way."

It's not the hands that are causing me problems," God remarked, "it's the three pairs of eyes that mothers have to have."

That's on the standard model?" asked the angel. God nodded.

One pair that sees through closed doors when she asks, 'What are you kids doing in there?' when she already knows. Another here in the back of her head that sees what she shouldn't but what she has to know, and of course the ones here in front that can look at a child when he goofs up and say. 'I understand and I love you' without so much as uttering a word."

God," said the angel touching his sleeve gently, "Get some rest tomorrow...."

I can't," said God, "I'm so close to creating something so close to myself. Already I have one who heals herself when she is sick...can feed a family of six on one pound of hamburger...and can get a nine year old to stand under a shower."

The angel circled the model of a mother very slowly. "It's too soft," she sighed.

But tough!" said God excitedly. "You can imagine what this mother can do or endure."

Can it think?"

Not only can it think, but it can reason and compromise," said the Creator.

Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek.

There's a leak," she pronounced. "I told You that You were trying to put too much into this model."

It's not a leak," said the Lord, "It's a tear."

What's it for?"

It's for joy, sadness, disappointment, pain, loneliness, and pride."

You are a genius, " said the angel.

Somberly, God said, "I didn't put it there.”

Do You Remember When You Turned 21?

It seems like just yesterday that I was turning 21!  I remember going to my first bar and getting carded and was thrilled!  I felt like such an adult that I could buy alcohol and walk into a bar and order a drink!   Every now and then I still get carded, only because it’s the law at some stores – I’m thrilled when it happens!

This May my youngest child, turns 21!  I can’t believe that 21 years have gone by so quickly!  Turning 21 is such a rite of passage to adulthood!  From a Mother’s point of view – I just want her and her friends to be safe and drink responsibly!

I did a little research on when Illinois created the legal age to drink to 21 years of age!  Starting back in 1872 the age to drink alcohol was based on the age of the majority!  What does that mean?  Simply put, it’s when a minor is determined an adult and no longer needs their parents.  In 1961 the age changed to 21 years of age!  Then in 1973 it was lowered to 19 to buy beer and wine and still 21 to buy alcohol.  Lastly in 1980 is was brought back up to 21 years of age for any kind of alcohol!   There must have been good reason for this final change!

So, as so many of our kids Segway into “adulthood” and are now considered legal to drink, let’s take pause!  Together let’s make sure these “adults” understand what it means to drink responsibly!  Don’t drink and drive!  Don’t be so drunk you don’t know what Uber you are getting into!  Pace yourself and drink plenty of water!  Be the best “adult” you can be!

Happy 21st Birthday my Sweet Daughter!

I Love You to the Moon and Back!

When does the Madness, Sadness, Craziness and Mindlessness End?

The last few days of March ended with three State Troopers passing away!  These “great hero’s” passed away from distracted drivers and drunk drivers!  These drivers should never have been on the road!  Now the State of Illinois has a law called “Scott’s Law” and they have overhead highway signs saying “Enough is Enough”. When does the madness, craziness and brainlessness end?

As our hearts are just starting to repair, April brings the story of A.J.! You didn’t have to know A.J. to feel such sadness for all that this little boy had endured and died from!  It is just so unimaginable that people could bring such harm to children!  A.J. put a stop to these people and he too is a “great hero”!  The abusers are people not parents!

Illinois has many, many laws to protect children from abuse.  As I was looking them over, these words kept popping up “Reasonable Cause to believe a Child is being Abused or Neglected”.  The reports that DCFS published about A.J. were above and beyond “Reasonable” and not enough was done to protect him!  When does the madness, sadness, craziness and brainlessness end?

Keep these State Troopers Families in your prayers!  Keep A.J.’s Family in your prayers!  Justice will prevail!  “Enough is Enough”!  The madness, sadness, craziness and brainlessness has to end!

Global Warming Vs Climate Change

What is going on with our weather?  I’m sure most of you are waking up this morning and shaking your heads saying, “Isn’t it April 14th?”  I suppose if we lived in the UP of Michigan, we would not think twice about snow in April!  But this is the Midwest!  Ugh!!

When I was little, Easter time was always sunny and warm.  My sisters and I wore our cute matching dresses, white anklets, white shoes and pretty hats to Church on Easter Day!  We couldn’t wait to get home from Church and run around outside!

Something in the weather department has changed over the years!  The grass is still getting greener, the tulips and daffodils are starting to bloom and the trees are full of buds!  The weather has different plans.  Our Spring seems to last forever with rain, snow and cooler than normal temperatures!  Our Summer seems to be very short and Fall seems like it lasts longer than before!  Don’t get me started about the length of our Winter! It’s as if we have only 2 seasons – Spring and Winter!

One source says that our global warming is an unprecedented type of climate change – we are having side effects to our environment!  Changes in sea levels, glaciers melting and changes in our temperatures!  There’s a lot of debate going on in regards to Global Warming Vs. Climate Change!  I think we can all agree that something is definitely changing!

Whatever the season or weather – it’s always a good time for

My Nod to Kathy Lee Gifford

My Nod to Kathy Lee Gifford

For the past 11 years I have enjoyed watching Kathy Lee and Hoda on the 4th hour of the Today Show!  Their genuine friendship, compassion for others and wit shined through on each show!  This past Friday, April 5th was Kathy Lee’s last show with Hoda! The today show has been celebrating Kathy Lee for the past several months!  Some may wonder what is the big deal!

I do not know Kathy Lee personally, but what I saw of her on the Today Show, I believe we could be best friends!  First and fore most she lives and breathes her Faith and does not apologize for it!  She has shown the world that when life does not go your way, you find a new way!  At the age of 65 she is excited to start a new chapter of her life!

Kathy Lee shows us that after great loss, you still have many chapters of your life to live!  Granted it is not easy!  We all do not have the means that Kathy Lee has!  Just like her, though, we have choices we can make!  You can choose to bury your head in the sand or you can hold your head up high and believe in yourself and the God Lord above!

Kathy Lee may not be everybody’s cup of tea!  I do hope we are all open enough to embrace and be excited for all of the possibilities that each chapter of lives will bring!  I will miss you Kathy Lee!                  Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord.

April Fool’s Day

Tomorrow will be April 1st – April Fool’s Day!  When did April 1st become April Fool’s Day?  Why is this day filled with funny practical jokes and silliness?  Some research says it dates back to Geoffrey Chaucer’s, The Canterbury Tales.  Other research says it was a way of celebrating the changing of the seasons!

However, it became to be – April 1st is a day of practical jokes!  There are some jokes that can be very funny – a hallway full of cups of water, toothpaste filled Oreo’s and a bowl full of m&m’s, skittles and reeses pieces or freaking out your teenage kids by telling them you are pregnant!  That last one always got my kids!  LOL!

To me April 1st is such a happy day of the year!  There’s more sunlight to each day, the trees are starting to bud and the robins are chirping away!  April 1st is a sign that winter is over and spring is on its way! I also happen to love April because it’s my birthday month, along with my son’s too!

Start off April with a fun and silly practical joke!  Enjoy the month full of April Showers that bring May Flowers!  Take a moment to listen to the birds chirping and look for your flowers to start blooming!

Staycation vs. Vacation

This is the week of Spring Break for so many of us!  Thus the big dilemma of Staycation vs. Vacation!  What are the pros and cons of both?  Which one will you choose?  If you could pick any place to Vacation, where would you go?

If you have decided to enjoy a Staycation, I hope you make time to relax!  Catch up on that book you’ve been wanting to read, make an appointment for a pedicure and treat yourself to a fruity drink with an umbrella!  I’ve also taken this time to do some spring cleaning!  It’s a great feeling to weed out your closets and that dreaded junk drawer!  Maybe even unplug from all electronics for a few days!  Enjoy your Family!

Vacation’s away for Spring Break are equally fun too!  The anticipation of traveling to a new state or country is exciting! Looking forward to sticking your toes in the warm sand and listening to ocean waves is so relaxing!  Plus, having a few days of not cooking and cleaning is the best! It’s a big wide world out there, it’s exciting to go and explore!

Of course, there are always cons to both!  You can’t make everyone happy!  We are sure we can make everyone happy at Suzy’s Swirl! Make sure you plan some time to enjoy your Spring Break with us at Suzy’s!  We are Swirling Super Spring Flavors!

Spring Break + Suzy’s Swirl = FUNCATION

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Sundaes with Sue

Who is St. Patrick and why do we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? says that St. Patrick was born in Roman, Britain and was brought to Ireland as a slave when he was 16.  He then escaped, returned to Ireland and was credited for bringing Christianity to its people!  He died on March 17, 461

Since the 9thor 10thcentury, people in Ireland have been observing the Roman Catholic Feast Day of St. Patrick on March 17th.  The first actual St. Patrick’s Day parade wasn’t in Ireland; it was actually in the United States.  On March 17, 1762, Irish soldiers serving in the English military marched through the streets of New York.  They were singing Irish songs and connecting back to their Irish Roots!

St. Patrick’s Day will always be a special day for me!  Part is because I am Irish!  The other part is because it is the day I became engaged to Joe!  On March 17th, 1983 (I’m aging myself) there was a snowstorm, my parents were flying home from a trip overseas and Joe decided this was the day!  Joe’s side of the family is Italian, but he always celebrated St. Patrick’s Day like he as an Irishman.  At an Italian restaurant, in the middle of a snowstorm, on St. Patrick’s Day – I said Yes!

May your troubles be less and your blessings be more and nothing but Happiness come through your door!
