Halloween 67 more days
Thanksgiving 95 more days
Christmas 122 more days
So, I ask you, why can’t we just enjoy the next 67 more days celebrating Halloween? Why are Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations already taking up space at stores? When did the almighty dollar take over the choices that the retail stores are making? Why can’t we enjoy one holiday at a time?
When I was a kid, not that long ago, Marshall Fields wouldn’t unveil their Christmas Windows until the day after Thanksgiving! The Sears, magical toy catalog, didn’t arrive at your home until after Thanksgiving! No one ever turned on their Christmas lights until day after Thanksgiving! There’s just something about waiting with excitement and wonder for each holiday to begin individually, not all clumped together!
I’ll admit, my favorite time of year is Fall! I love everything about it! The colors, sweatshirts, cardigans, pumpkins, mums, cool evenings, my list can go on and on. I don’t want to rush it! We still have 23 more days of Summer and I think we should all enjoy each and every one of them!
Please know that at Suzy’s Swirl we will be celebrating one holiday at a time! We are still Swirling Summer Flavors at Suzy’s and we will not get ahead of ourselves! There will be NO PSL (pumpkin spiced latte) at Suzy’s until it is officially Fall!
