Suzy's Swirl all started 10 years ago, so unbelievable! My husband Joe, my sister Kathy and I were all talking about starting up a fast casual Italian shop! We had been to so many Restaurant Shows in Chicago tasting all of the amazing Italian bread and Italian sausage! We were getting close to making this dream become a reality! Then life decides to change your plans! My husband Joe, unexpectedly passes away! Our plans for this fast casual Italian shop pass away too!
Suzy's Swirl was like a phoenix rising from the ashes of this loss! My sister Kathy, my daughters Jen and Julie and my sons, Joe and Jim decided to keep this dream alive and honor Joe in the process! Suzy's Swirl became a reality in Gurnee, Illinois on August 2nd, 2012. I remember so vividly the day we opened wondering if anyone was going to come walking through our doors! No one knew who we were or what were selling! Could we do this? To our great surprise it was Gurnee Days the week we opened. We had a few brand new customers come in on their way to Gurnee Days and they became our beloved brand ambassadors handing out Suzy's Swirl flyers during Gurnee Days! It was like opening up the flood gates - we were so busy!
Fast forward 10 years and we still have beloved customers from Gurnee coming into Suzy's Swirl in Lake Bluff and Lake Forest to visit and enjoy a delicious cup of frozen yogurt! It is because of our amazing customers from Gurnee, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest and surrounding towns that we have been able to do what we love to do!

Today I would thank all of the many crew members, shift leaders and managers who have worked and continue to work at Suzy's Swirl over these past 10 years! Your help and support have been so very much appreciated! I would like to thank all of our customers and friends who have swirled with us! It has been an honor and pleasure to get to know you over these years! I would like to thank the communities of Gurnee, Lake Bluff and Lake Forest! These communites truly helped and supported this unknown yogurt shop become a part of the neighborhood!
Finally, I would like to thank my family! Their continuing help, sweat and tears, love and understanding are a true demonstration of unconditional love! Every great team has to have a great captain, for us that captain has been my sister Kathy! She continues to help us grow, be better and find a yes in every no! She will always say, "Remember there is no "I" in TEAM!"
