What a week it has been.....

This past week has been filled with highs, lows, fun and sadness. It is a natures amazing way of combining all of these events, emotions and life changing events that keep us moving!

When my kids were younger, the week before school we had a tradition of going miniature golfing, go cart racing and a final boat ride. My kids are all grown now, but this past weekend I did manage to get a few of my kids together and we went miniature golfing and had a boat ride! It was so much fun, just like old times!

Now with only days left of summer vacation, so many of us are trying to squeeze in last minute activities that we promised our kids we’d get done for the last 2 months! It’s amazing how fast these lazy, warm summer days can go by! I do believe that there are still plenty of warm summer days to enjoy, even when the kids are back in school!

On another day, I noticed how many families are out and about with their school supply list in hand, getting new backpacks, new shoes and back to school haircuts! Yesterday was the first preseason Chicago Bears game - they won in case you missed it! Believe it or not, I did notice a beautiful tree in my neighborhood that is starting to show it's beautiful fall colors! How can that be?? There was so much hustle and bustle going on this past week!

Then there is the news of the fires on the island of Maui! These fires caused such an extreme tragic loss of lives, homes and businesses! My husband, Joe and I honeymooned in Maui 38 years ago! We stayed at the Kaanapali Shores Resort and visited Lahaina daily! It was such a beautiful and lush island! I remember our first night there, we noticed the far away mountains were on fire one night and we asked the front desk what was happening. They explained how they were having a controlled

burn of the sugar cane! I was nervous back then, I cannot even imagine how scary these fires were for everyone there! Let us all keep the Island of Maui in our thoughts and prayers!

Here we are at the beginning of a new week! Enjoy these last days of summer vacation, sleep in, finish reading your book, enjoy your kiddo’s and keep Suzy’s Swirl in your routine! All of us at Suzy’s Swirl greatly appreciate your business and support! It has been awesome seeing all of the kids this summer, summer camps stopping in and those late-night date night couples coming in! We look forward to you enjoying our delicious fall flavors and fall events!

You’re off to great places. Today is your day!
